Jedan od onih povijesnih događaja koji okreću pogle na stanje stvari dogodiose kasno popodne na jučerašnji dan.
Unesco je na svojem zasjedanju proglasio sokolarstvo živućim naslijeđemčovječanstva.

"Theannouncement we have all been waiting for was made a few minutes ago in Nairobi - "Falconry, a Living Human Heritage" has been officially inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; the culmination of six years of work. Our vice-president Bohumil Straka is currently attending UNESCO's 5th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee in Nairobi and has just telephoned to give us the great news. .

Obviously the submitting nations already have plans to celebrate this event in their newspapers and other media and many countries that were not directly involved in the submission may also have their own ideas for publicising it. Attached to this email is our IAF press release document, simple  in content, designed to attract the attention of newspaper editors who, we hope, will run it as a news story and follow up with longer features in the coming weeks.

If you wish you may issue this simple IAF Press Release to editors immediately, in translation if necessary and with contact details for your own organisation and quotations from your own dignitaries. A more detailed article. including acknowledgments, is in preparation for distribution to the specialised falconry magazines, the hunting press and to club newsletter and journal editors.

The important thing is that we use the UNESCO inscription to promote falconry in a very positive manner and this first press release may help.
